The film Wisdom Earned will be shown at the INB performing arts center to accommodate a larger audience. A previous showing at the Bing was sold out and many people were not able to attend. The date is October 10th at 7PM. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticket West Outlets for $25.00. Chris Kopczynski and other well-known climbers will be introduced before the film.

Wisdom Earned, “A Mountain Climbers Perspective is a feature length documentary film, based on mountain climber Chris Kopczynski’s amazing life story. It tells what he learned from climbing to the tops of the world’s highest mountains on seven continents, including Antarctica and Mt Everest twice. Now there is just one more Mountain left to climb. At 63, Chris Kopczynski had a goal and purpose explained in the film to climb one last major mountain, the little known Mt. Fairweather in Alaska. This is world’s highest coastal mountain from sea level to the summit and remains a mysterious, treacherous part of Alaska that most people have never heard of.

The sensitive story regarding the purpose for the climb and pilgrimage, is detailed in the film including the tie-in with the earth, and the lost salmon runs on the Spokane River. It contains real life drama, adversity, avalanches, storms and hidden dangers that stand in their way. It is a personal, emotional, sensitive, true and authentic documentary story. The audience learns some treasures of wisdom from a mountain climber’s perspective, intermixed with powerful observations, inspiring stories of human spirit, historical perspectives on the loss of the salmon on the Columbia a River, and worldwide effects of pollutions. Filmed in Alaska, China and all over the world, the message has mass appeal to a broad audience.

It is especially inspiring to Spokane area audience because of this communities rich history in mountain climbing and the love and respect for our local climbers and the environment. The release of the film is timely, touching on many serious issues facing the world right now. The film was written and directed by Lon Gibby and co-produced by Chris Kopczynski and Gibby Media Group Inc.

Very impressive, educational, addressing true and urgent needs, longing for action by companies, governments, but also individuals across the board. It’s a film that teaches, a film that will wake you up to make our world a better one instead of trying to destroy it. The photography is just phenomenal, so real, so understandable, so inviting. A true piece of art in its way. Congratulations! “

Awesome job and Congratulations!” I hope millions of people everywhere can experience this film!” Susan Jostrum Seattle, Washington “Breathtaking panoramic visuals of one man’s struggles and conquests on some of the most perilous mountains on the planet, and how a lifetime of facing hardship, danger, failure, death and ultimately victory on the way to the top, strengthens his perspective and deep concern of the losing battle and imminent extinction of our salmon fisheries, and how this extinction foreshadows the death of our environment”. Lee R. Dreyer President Nutrition Research, Inc. Eureka, Mt. “Wisdom Earned shares a unique and uncommon view from one of America’s most unique and uncommon adventurers. Chris Kopczynski’s experiences on the tallest and most remote mountains of the world provide a brilliant platform for him to share his greatest challenge ever. A climb on one of Alaska’s most treacherous peaks, Mount Fairweather.” Jon Jonckers Spokane, Washington “Chris Kopczynski is taking us on an adventure to a deeper level. This film does a masterful job of weaving the spectacular scenery of mountain climbing with the incredible salmon migrations. One receives a deeper joy when seeing the accolades he receives from his family and friends”. Stephen Trefts Spokane, Washington
